Notification of
Bogus Staff

The Health
Service Executive South Eastern Area has been informed of a
bogus worker who has visited at least two homes in the Wexford
Town area in the past month.
A woman ,
stating that the Public Health Nurse sent her, called to a
person's home offering assistance with shopping etc. On another
occasion the person was offering Nursing Services to persons
aged over 70yrs. Sometime later the families of the elderly
homeowners were suspicious of the woman and contacted the
Community Services Headquarters in Wexford. One description is
of a woman aged approx. 40-45 yrs of age with blonde hair in a
bobbed style and driving a white car .The Gardai were notified
immediately of the incident.
Staff of the
HSE Community Services team carry identification, it is
essential that elderly residents who have an unexpected visit
from a social worker, nurse or community care worker should ask
to see identification. If they are in any doubt they should
contact their local Community Service HQ immediately (number
listed below). Outside of working hours they should contact
their local Garda Station.
Any member of
the public has already received a visit from the bogus staff
member is asked to contact their local Community Service Care
Office for advice and support. The Wexford Community Services
