Major developments to health
centres
The
South Eastern Health Board welcomes the approval to undertake the
development of three new health centres across the South East.
The cost of the new developments is 1.7 million euro and will
enable the board to provide modern, bright facilities for patients,
staff and GPs.
The
three health centres will be built in Tullow Co. Carlow, Mullinahone
Co.
Tipperary
and Ballmacarbery
Co. Waterford. The
health centres will provide a range of accommodation such as doctors
surgeries, treatment rooms, practice nurse accommodation, community
welfare offices, waiting rooms.
In the case of Tullow the new health centre will also have a
dental suite and accommodation for physiotherapists and occupational
therapists.
Mr.Peter
Finnegan, Deputy CEO of the South Eastern Health Board, says “This
is a positive development for community services in Tullow,
Mullinahone and Ballmacarbery and one that is welcomed by staff and
patients. I look forward
to the developments moving forward as swiftly as possible and to
welcoming patients to their new health centres. The new health
centres being built at a cost of
1.7 million euro are part of the SEHB’s ongoing commitment to
improving local health services for people. The new health centres
will enable the SEHB to provide the highest quality primary care
service to local people.”
