SEHB thanks participants
of Population Health Survey.
The Southern Eastern Health Board
would like to thank all those who participated in the South Eastern
Population Health Survey 2001. The
survey, which was launched on October 15th 2001 by the Public
Health Department of the South Eastern Health Board, is one of the largest
health research surveys ever undertaken in the South East region.
The
survey was sent to 8,000 randomly selected male and female adults residing
within the region. Almost 60
per cent of recipients replied to the survey. The Board would like to
thank all those who completed and returned their questionnaires.
Respondents are assured that the information they have provided will be
treated as strictly confidential and their names will not be published on
any reports that come from this survey. Thanks is also extended to those
who informed the Board of any selected residents who were no longer living
at the address to where the questionnaire was sent.
In
December 2001 the Public Health Department ran a Survey Draw for £250.
The winner was Mr. Werner Reith of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
The
Population Health Survey has been recognised as a vital tool for
retrieving valuable information on the state of public health within the
South Eastern region. Dr.
Julie Heslin, Specialist in Public Health Medicine for the South Eastern
Health Board said: This
survey gives important information regarding quality of life and
self-perception of health of people living in the South East.
It also gave respondents the opportunity to highlight concerns or
suggestions they may have about the health service.
Results
of the survey will be available later this year and will also be available
on the Health Board Web Site, the Health Board Library and County
Libraries.
