Due to the ongoing industrial action by Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs) at Waterford Regional Hospital it is necessary and regrettable that all non-emergency services will be cancelled for a second day, on Friday, 9^th August 2002. This will be reviewed on a daily basis.

This will include outpatient visits and non-emergency theatre procedures. However, all cancer services, including the administration of chemotherapy, breast clinics and outpatient cancer services, will proceed as normal and will not be affected by this action. Scheduled dialysis and maternity outpatient clinics will also not be affected. Accident and Emergency, Intensive Care Units and Coronary Care Unit are operating as normal.

Should the matter be resolved, all services will resume as normal and the South Eastern Health Board will inform the public through the media.
