Chris Fitzgerald, Principal Officer, Department of Health and Children accompanied by Mairéad Gleeson Project Manager Cardiovascular Disease Strategy, South Eastern Health Boadr, visited Waterford Regional Hospital on the morning of the 14^th May 2002.

They were met by: Dr. Michael O’Reilly, Consultant Cardiologist, Catherine Dwyer, Regional Co-ordinator of Cardiac Diagnostic Services, Richard Dooley, Hospital Manager, Hazel Daniels, Director of Nursing.

A brief tour of the hospital followed where they firstly visited Cardiac Diagnostics and then the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit. Chris Fitzgerald commented that he was extremely enthused by the progress made against agreed initiatives at Waterford Regional Hospital.
