Special bank account set up for victims of Wexford refugee tragedy

The Chaplaincy at Wexford General Hospital has set up a special bank account for people wishing to make donations to support the victims of the Wexford refugee tragedy.

Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so through the TSB Bank, Wexford, account number 990639-71978767 or through the Chaplain’s Office at Wexford General Hospital.

Fr. Billy Flynn, Chaplain at the hospital, said they had set up the special account to support the victims and their families: “These people have been through an extremely traumatic time and the next few months will be very difficult for them,” he said. “This account will give people an opportunity to make donations, if they wish to do so.”

Fr. Flynn said the people of Wexford and the whole country have been very supportive: “Everyone has been wonderful,” he added. “All we can do now is continue to support the five people who survived the tragedy and their families, and the families of those who have died. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

Anyone wishing to make any further enquiries in relation to the special account can do so by contacting the Chaplain’s Office at Wexford General Hospital.
