This video and accompanying booklet are designed to assist parents to explore their own attitudes to drugs and drug taking and to help them consider how to raise the subject with their own children.
Audience: Parents (As the video has quite a specific focus it may not be suitable for every parents group or every area therefore the facilitator should inform him /her self as to the particular needs of the group in advance)

My Best Friend – A drug education story - Video and booklet (18½ mins.) (Health Promotion Unit)
The story focuses on the relationship between two sisters and through this we witness one example of a teenagers first experience of drugs – in this case Ecstasy – and her eventual addiction to heroin. In using dramatisation the programme seeks to avoid seeming as though it wants to teach and preach. The package seeks to be a trigger for discussion and to give insights into the way in which drug misuse impacts on relationships and lives.
Audience: The primary target audience is 13 – 17 year olds but can be used with a variety of groups in formal and informal educational settings as well as with parent and community groups.

Community Action on Drugs (60 mins.) Irish
Brush Shiels introduces video – Brian Adams, Bob Geldof, Clannad etc. Each says a few words about not using drugs and performs some of their own music. No formal educational content but the message is you can have fun without drugs.
